The Mayors of Indre are angry and they intend to make it known. A delegation of 90 of them is expected during the congress of the Association of Mayors of France (AMF), in Paris, Tuesday November 19, 2024. On this occasion, Claude Doucet, mayor of Valençay and president of the Association of mayors of Indre (AMI), calls on his colleagues to join the rally, “girded with their tricolor scarves”organized by the AMF to oppose the financial cut planned by the government for communities in the 2025 draft Budget.
“We refuse to be the government’s adjustment variables”writes Claude Doucet, in a press release. It alerts on “the recent measures announced aimed at imposing on local authorities a financial effort of at least 5 billion euros, of which 3 billion will be directly taken from our real operating revenue”.
And to warn: “The cumulative impact of these drains, accentuated by inflation and the costs linked to the ecological transition, threatens local investment, public services and the ecological transition. »
