A new restaurant serving couscous and tagines takeaway opened its doors in the center of (Oise).

Potterythat's its name, opened on November 4 on rue des Jacobins, in place of the Potiron & Co restaurant.

At its head are two partners, Karim Ramadan and Adem Gorsane. Both already own a restaurant in Beauvais (the Cité Berbère, rue des Cheminots for one, and Le Kingston, rue Desgroux, for the second).

La Poterie, a name that resonates in the heads and hearts of fans of oriental cuisine in this sector. “My parents previously owned the La Poterie restaurant in Warluis. They stayed there from 1984 to 2007,” recalls Adem Gorsane.

The only one to offer this in Oise

The idea of ​​opening a couscous bar had been in his head for a long time now.

This is a concept that did not exist in the Oise. Tagines are generally only served in restaurants.

Le concept of this new restore point couldn't be simpler. You come in, you order, and you leave for the office or home with your tray of couscous under your arm! “Either we heat your dish right away on site, or you come and pick up your order. »

13 kinds of couscous

Nine types of tagines and thirteen couscous different ones appear on the Pottery map. “The flagship couscous, the one that sells the most, is the Couscous royal of course, with three meats (chicken, merguez, lamb).” This is offered at 18 euros, explains the manager, who is considering creating a “student formula” given its proximity to the Jacobins high school.

The price range for this quintessential oriental dish? Between 11 euros for a vegetarian couscous and 21 euros for the royal four meats.

From bain-marie to tray

In this room with refined degoration, the ingredients and the homemade semolina are placed in bins facing customers. And the meats are kept in a bain-marie, to keep them nice and warm.

Kofta meatballs, merguez, chickpeas, chicken, lamb…Everything is desirable! “It’s a brilliant concept,” exclaims this father who came as a neighbor with his little man. Since its opening ten days ago, the couscous bar on rue des Jacobins, which opens Friday and Saturday evenings until 10:30 p.m., has never been empty.

“Thanks to word of mouth, we are starting to gain a little notoriety,” says Adem, who specifies that for at least 60 euros of purchase, home delivery around Beauvais is possible.
