Adopted from Nazaire since 1980, Jacky Perreaz has built up collections of impressive documents linked to the memory of Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans.
When Jacky welcomes us to his home, he directs us to his Ali-Baba cave, located high up in the garage. A large office filled with objects and documents then opens up to us. A place dedicated to local memorywith binders, books and other trinkets. First there are the photographic collections. Jacky specifies: “I have saved nearly 10,000 photos from 1995 to 2020 in the town, as well as 3,500 other photos from 1870 to 1995.”. Jacky is a wise photographer. The retiree is also the author of around twenty brochures recalling the history of Nazaire for centuries. Ten binders of newspaper articles are neatly arranged on the shelves.
