Parisian friends, if you feel like you no longer know what does the sun look likerest assured, it’s not your imagination playing tricks on you! From the beginning of Novemberthe City of Light was only blessed with 9h36 of sunshine according to weather reports from the Paris-Montsouris station dated November 13, 2024. Suffice to say that to catch these few fleeting rays, you had to be in the right place, at the right time, and have a lot of luck!
Readings well below seasonal norms
Normal numbers for the fall season? No way ! Still according to the station's weather reports Paris-Montsouristhese figures represent a drop of 86% compared to seasonal norms calculated over a period from 1991 to 2020.
But the inhabitants of the capital are not the only ones to complain. With 8h26 of sunshine since the beginning of the month, the town of Trappes (Yvelines) has recorded a drop of 88% compared to seasonal norms. Same in Melun, in Seine-et-Marne, where the town only experienced 9h32 of sunshine in 13 days, i.e. a drop of 86% compared to the normal from 1991 to 2020.
The rest of France under the gray
Outside of Île-de-France, the figures are not more encouraging. On November 5, the metropolis of Nantes recorded no only 1h17 of sunshine over the last 10 days. A phenomenon accentuated by thick fog, which completely prevented the planes of the Nantes-Atlantique flying club from taking off for nine days in a row.
In short, it's difficult to say when the sun will decide to show up againbut one thing is certain, when he returns, we will be ready to celebrate him like never before! In the meantime, there remains to be done full of vitamins otherwise, as with our selection of healthy and ultra gourmet restaurants where to order in Paris!
