On the “Brussels-Namur” line, IC trains will be diverted via Louvain and will not serve the Brussels-Schuman and Brussels-Luxembourg stations. The journey time will be extended by around twenty minutes. Local trains will be replaced by buses.
Throughout the weekend, Infrabel will carry out work as part of the “RER” project. The teams will mainly be working at the Profondsart station, where they will renew the waterproofing of a tunnel, requiring the partial dismantling of the tracks.
Very good news for rail users: punctuality has clearly improved!
Between La Hulpe and Hoeilaart stations, other teams will create concrete anchors intended to accommodate signaling and catenary support elements. This work is an essential prerequisite for the installation of the two new tracks, which are scheduled to come into service in mid-2025.
In the covered trench of Boitsfort station, Infrabel will, on the one hand, install signaling elements and, on the other hand, carry out major civil engineering works including the drilling of openings intended to install the smoke extraction device.
In addition, traffic will be completely interrupted from Saturday morning to Sunday evening between Brussels-Midi and Nivelles. All trains will be replaced by buses, some direct (stopping at Brussels-Midi, Braine l’Alleud and Nivelles) and others marking the different stops on the line.
