Franck Raynal, mayor of the town of , in , has decided to remove foie gras from all meals organized by the municipality. It thus becomes the “first right-wing mayor in the region to take a stand against foie gras in this way”underlined the L214 association to Southwest .

Two other cities in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, and , had already taken a similar measure. A decision welcomed by L214

However, this announcement is not unanimous. Asked by France 3 New Aquitainethe president of the Landes Chamber of Agriculture, Marie-Hélène Cazauban, regrets this choice. “I find it a shame not to support a sector which is a sector of excellence”she lamented, referring to the “many people” which depend on the latter.
