This is the continuation of a long file. Since the closure of the Charles-de-Gaulle crèche by the PMI (Maternal and Child Protection) in the Houilles park (Yvelines) – which gave birth to the new Les Choupissons crèche right next door -, a large white building has been orphan of all activities.

The municipality thought for a long time about giving it a new life. Because if the premises are not suitable to accommodate an establishment of the early childhoodthey can be for other functions.

This is how a third place project is in progress development course to “test new uses that meet the expectations of Ovillois”, announces Christophe Haudrechy, deputy mayor responsible for the Environment and Ecological Transition, Mobility and Participatory Democracy.

Applications until December 31, 2024

A call for projects was launched by the City, accompanied by the Plateau Urbain agency, in order to create a meeting place friendly and supportivecombining responsible catering and shared workspaces.

Proposals can be submitted online until December 31, 2024. Site tours are offered to project leaderswhether it is unique or the voice of a collective that wishes to unite several entities.

Sustainable workspace and food

The building, with a total surface area of 254 m²is on two levels, with terrace and garden. The town hall has already identified what it wants to direct this future third place towards: an initiative combining sustainable food and therefore shared work spaces.

“As there are two levels, we want to mix work space – for those who are alone at home, to develop social bonds – and a food area thanks to the professional kitchen which is in very good condition on the ground floor . »

The elected official gives an idea: “For example, buying prepared products is not the best thing in terms of health and ecological transition, and some people need support to learn to cook from bulk product. »

Investment in the premises from April 2025

The choice of winner will be known in February 2025. The occupation period should be effective from April 2025, for a period of four years.
