Jacqueline Puget, former mayor of Dévoluy from 2015 to 2020 and first deputy of Alexandra Butel, has resigned from the municipal council. This departure is accompanied by the resignation of another municipal councilor. Others are thinking about it.
Le Dvoluy once again caught in a spiral of resignations. On November 11, Jacqueline Puget, current first deputy of Alexandra Butel, slammed the door of the municipality, as the former mayor indicated to BFM DICI, confirming information from Dauphiné Libéré.
This resignation is also accompanied by the departure of municipal councilor Alain Manivel. According to our information Marie-José Cayol and Frédérique Pral could do the same.
On the phone, Jacqueline Puget did not wish to give the reasons for her departure from the municipality of Dévoluy. “I currently have a duty of reserve. I submitted my letter of resignation to the prefect who has one month to accept or not my decision”, explains the former mayor of the village who however confirmed that her departure was not due to a health problem.
Also contacted by BFM DICI, Alexandra Butel, regrets the departure of her former first assistant. “I understand her and I thank her for being present.”
A wave of resignations since January 2023
It should be remembered that between January 20 and 23, 2023, municipal councilors Fabien Serres and Amélie Marriq also resigned. They were quickly followed in February 2023 by Jean Lapeyre, former first deputy of Alexandra Butel, then newly elected mayor of Dévoluy a few weeks earlier.
This makes five resignations since the start of Alexandra Butel's mandate. The shadow of a new by-election hangs over the town hall of Dévoluy, less than two years before the next municipal elections.
This unstable political climate is denounced by Marie-Paule Rogou, mayor of Dévoluy from 2020 to 2022, who became a municipal councilor again after being put in the minority: “When we make a political and civic commitment, we must respect it until In the end, it’s pathetic for Dévoluy,” she criticizes.
