Morocco reaffirms its firm commitment against nuclear and radiological terrorism by actively participating in the launch meeting of the Global Forum for the Prevention of Nuclear and Radiological Terrorism “Global FTPRNT”, organized by the United States and Romania from November 13 to 15 in Bucharest. Redouane Houssaini, Director of United Nations and International Organizations at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed that this initiative responds to new global security challenges, by offering a coordinated and innovative platform.
Houssaini reiterated that Morocco, in accordance with the High Vision of HM King Mohammed VI, is committed to a proactive and multidimensional approach to counter nuclear terrorism, particularly in Africa. Morocco actively contributes to strengthening the capacities of African countries and encourages regional and international cooperation, in a context where terrorist groups are strengthening their links with separatist militias and transnational organized crime.
With more than 70 countries and UN agencies such as the IAEA and UNOCT present, Morocco sees in the “Global FTPRNT” a continuation of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism, of which it is a founding member.
