Even though we have accumulated unforgettable experiences, have lived more or less memorable moments, which we would like to share and pass on to loved ones, the thing is not easy to put down on paper, and not everyone is not able to write his autobiography. The Raciines project, which received the Favorite Prize in the BoostCampus 47 competition at the end of September, will develop support that will take things in hand within the Digital Campus incubator, for a period of three months.

Raciines was co-founded by two residents, Julien Segura, 28 years old, and Mannaïg Fouillen, 29 years old. “The idea is to make its use financially accessible initially, and Raciines will initially only be available on the Internet. But the idea is to expand and offer more personalized contact, for example to offer workshops in nursing homes,” explains Julien Segura.

“We want to transcend the fear of writing a biographical book”

Concretely, a person, mainly a senior, who can be accompanied by a loved one, will connect to the digital platform and will have to answer some 250 questions, orally or in writing, “and we transform, with artificial intelligence, their responses into fictionalized and captivating stories, unless people want to keep their responses as they are,” assures Julien Segura. The result is a biography, which compiles these moments of life, and which can be enriched with photos and a video message accessible by QR Code in the book subsequently printed.

Family transmission

“We started from the observation that one in five newborns does not have the chance to know all of their grandparents in , and one in two adults has already lost their maternal grandmother at the age 30 years, according to INSEE”, affirm the two partners. “I didn't know three of my grandparents and I missed that, I would have loved to have a book about them,” adds Julien Segura. Mannaïg Fouillen, for her part, has experience providing home help to elderly people, who are often isolated, and whose Raciines project could boost their morale.

“We want to transcend the fear that people have at the idea of writing a biographical book: The fear of the blank page, the fear of not knowing which way to take it, of not knowing how to lay it out. And then we are not all born with the pen of Voltaire and that can be a hindrance. However, today, with new technological advances, we can easily get closer. Allowing you to know your family members better, to perpetuate their memory across generations and for each child to know their origins seems essential to us for good personal development. »

The books will be sold for 39 euros for the digital version, and 67 euros for the printed version. The e-book version will be available for the same price. Then each member of the family will be able to print additional paper copies for 39 euros. The platform is now accessible: www.raciines.com
