2nd mandate of the Gard Departmental Youth Council for the period 2024/2026

The Departmental Youth Council (CDJ) has just been formed for a second two-year term, covering the period 2024-2026.

During the election last October, more than 11,000 college students voted to elect 110 representatives from 53 public colleges in the department. The elections achieved a participation of 50%, with 57% of votes cast electronically in 30 establishments.

The CDJ, chaired by Françoise Laurent-Perrigot with the support of Nathalie Nury and Amal Couvreur, offers young elected officials the opportunity to express their ideas and engage in projects with an educational and civic scope. The young advisors, 58 5th grade students and 52 4th grade students, are distributed equally and fairly represent all the cantons and colleges of Gard. They will work within four thematic commissions, including “Quality of life and solidarity at college” and “Sustainable development” to propose concrete actions in favor of health, well-being, equality and environment.

This mandate is part of an educational dynamic aimed at training young people in democratic and civic values, with annual meetings and projects to be carried out according to the skills of the Departmental Council.
