Closure of the adolescent care center in Saint-Nazaire a year ago, reduction in the number of beds at the -Atlantique nord psychiatric establishment (Epsylan), in Blain, overloaded Saint-Jacques hospital in Nantes. The mental health sector is failing everywhere, in Loire-Atlantique, which must also provide for the other departments of Pays-de-la-Loire. Nicolas Oudaert, president of the Epsylan supervisory committee, had wanted a meeting and a common position with his counterparts in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, Johanna Rolland and David Samzun. With Myriam Bigeard, departmental advisor and president of the Supervisory Board of the Georges Daumézon Hospital Center, they sign a call for mobilization recalling the efforts undertaken locally “from prevention to care, including innovation”.

They send their warning message to the State. “We need a national emergency plan, particularly for psychiatry. Against the bed closure initiated by the government. » It is in particular the departure or lack of availability of doctors that weakens psychiatric care units.
