Ces November 15, 16 and 17, 2024the large hall of La Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg (Manche) will host the 28th edition of the Festival of seafood and local productsthe unmissable meeting place for foodies and gourmets.

As the end-of-year holidays approach, this event organized by the Mer et Terroir en Cotentin association in partnership with Manche Terroirs, Bienvenue à la Ferme and the chefs of the Manche Gastronomie du terroir association, is the opportunity to concoct tasty menus to satisfy all your guests.

A fifty stands will present the best of the region, but also other regions of for products that cannot be found on our territory such as wine or olives for example.

The key word is quality, the goal is to promote the know-how of artisans and producers whose products meet very specific specifications.

This year, the show will offer some new features, an evening event with closing at 9 p.m. on Friday and a raffle allowing you to win a stay at the farm with a basket worth 200 euros. A Welcome to the Farm mascot will also wander the aisles handing out delicious cookies.

On Saturday lunchtime, the chef of the Mer et Terroir association, Daniel Chenina, will offer an American-style squid served with rice or fries. On Saturday and Sunday lunchtime, it will be possible to enjoy grilled meats, sausages, merguez or pork chops as well as fries. For dessert, “Éclat de Fèves” will provide visitors with pastries

The SNSM will be present throughout the duration of the event.

Programme

Friday November 15
Culinary demonstration around small sweet treats organized by the chefs of the Manche Gastronomie du Terroir association with Manche Terroirs and Bienvenue à la Ferme products.
Saturday November 16
10:30 a.m.: preparation around scallops (Lejuez armament) and oysters from the Hélie et fils family, which will be cooked with honey from Rucher du Chefresne and Pastis Normand from the Montjoie distillery.
All day long, Marie Martin will offer face painting to the children and the Welcome to the Farm mascot will wander the aisles to distribute cookies.
Sunday November 17
10:30 a.m.: preparation around fish from our coasts (Normandie Fraicheur Mer) cooked with Pinte de Saire beer, hosted by the chefs.
4:30 p.m.: “special children’s” culinary workshop around chocolate led by chef Gwenaël Le Garrec of Chez Ferdinand. Registration on site, the same day, at the stand of the Manche Gastronomie du Terroir association.
From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Gérard Bourdet, co-founder and president of the Voiles Écarlates association, will sign his graphic novel Marées et horizons.

Free entry. Friday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the large hall of La Cité de la Mer.
