Seven men aged 18 to 32 were arrested this Monday afternoon, rue de la Capsulerie, in Bagnolet (Seine-Saint-Denis). The presence of around ten individuals, not far from one of the most profitable deal points in Seine-Saint-Denis, did not fail to be noticed by local residents. In fact, these young people had taken care to hide their faces under a hood.
When the police arrived, everyone fled. Seven of them were arrested by local police. One of them was seen throwing a bag into the thickets, which was quickly recovered by the officers. In this sports bag were four handguns, including a revolver and an automatic pistol.
An investigation was opened for “armed assembly with the aim of committing violence or damage and possession of category B handguns”, indicates a source close to the investigation. The suspects were taken into custody. Their intentions are not known at this stage.
Such demonstrations in broad daylight are always shocking for local residents, who have already recently experienced other more violent sequences. Last July, a 30-year-old man was coldly shot dead in broad daylight, in the neighborhood, while he came to visit his parents.
Despite the “Places nets” operations carried out by the police, the “oven” of the Capsulerie resists and it remains one of the most important deal points in Seine-Saint-Denis, which also supplies others. Last year, no less than 400 kg were seized, a record. The annual turnover of this traffic has been estimated at 15 million euros.
