In the Montbéliard region, an elderly person took the A 36 motorway in the wrong direction in the middle of the afternoon on November 12, 2024. To avoid it, a motorist hit a heavy goods vehicle. He is slightly injured. Traffic was severely disrupted.

According to the first elements of the investigation, an elderly man entered the A 36 motorway towards after shopping in the Sochaux commercial area. He realizes that he has taken the wrong direction and then turns around towards Besançon. He is on the highway and then finds himself going against the flow of cars and heavy goods vehicles which are driving towards Belfort. Fortunately, this error only caused one minor injury. A young man, trying to avoid the car traveling in the opposite direction, hit a truck.

The 29-year-old driver was fortunately slightly injured. He was taken to the Franche-Comté hospital center.

The motorist drove approximately from Sochaux to Trevenans before being intercepted by the motorized brigade of the gendarmerie. According to the Doubs Fire Brigade, the truck driver was able to leave without being hospitalized.
