In the two Charentes, attendance during the All Saints' Day holidays increased by 7.5% compared to 2023. In Charente-Maritime, the number of nights increased by 10% (first week: +2.5% and second week: +15%).

If inflation continues to weigh on the morale of tourists, there were nevertheless more of them to set foot on the soil of Charente-Maritime during the last All Saints' Day holidays. Attendance increased by 7.5% in the two Charentes thanks to more favorable weather conditions than in 2023 and an advantageous calendar with the long weekend of November 1st. A figure to be taken with a grain of salt after a lackluster summer season and a geopolitical context which is affecting the morale of the French.

A checkered attendance

If we zoom out the figures for the last holidays, between Easter and All Saints' Day tourist numbers recorded a drop of 2.5% in Charente-Maritime. Between April and June, attendance in the two Charentes remained at the 2023 level, although marked by a drop of 15% during the spring holidays and Pentecost. Furthermore, activity recorded good results during Ascension (+10%) and in June (5%). This summer, the results were mixed, with July falling well short of expectations and August showing progress. Also in September, attendance fell (-2.5%).

The All Saints’ Day holidays therefore catch up with the summer season. The number of nights increased by 10% (first week: +2.5% and second week: +15%). On the coast, the declines are more pronounced in the pre-season (-5%) and in September (-7.5%) than in other departmental areas. Summer performances and those of All Saints' Day remain within the departmental average. In the interior territories, the pre-season was good but the decline was more marked in the post-season compared to the other territories of the department. On the islands, the results are similar to those of the departmental average with a uniform drop of 2.5%.
