The body of a homeless man with a significant wound to his head was discovered on a public highway in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon (Rhône) this Monday.

According to this same source, the events took place around 10 a.m., when the body was discovered. Concerning the profile of the victim, he is a Romanian national of no fixed address.
An investigation was opened, the Lyon prosecutor's office told CNEWS, for the charge of “assassination”, while the victim presented a significant wound to the head, in addition to a bloody concrete block located near the body.
“According to the first elements of the investigation, the death was caused by a blow from a concrete block to the victim’s head,” added the prosecution. Surveillance video also confirms the facts, according to the prosecution to AFP, showing an individual striking the victim in the head.
No arrests have yet been made. The investigations entrusted to the DCOS are continuing actively in order to identify the perpetrator and determine the exact and motive circumstances of this act.
