Bad weather sets in in Occitania. Since the start of the week, a cold drop has been migrating towards the south of Portugal. Its passage through will generate more or less intense precipitation which could turn into snow, in Lozère or in the this Tuesday.

On its website, Weather Languedoc explained that “the mistral and the tramontane wake up, with gusts of 60 to 70 km/h during the day, in the usual areas: Rhône valley, Aude and Roussillon, sometimes 80/90 km/h.”

As the cold drop passes through the region, precipitation is expected to intensify, particularly from Thursday. “It should be noted that the Pyrénées-Orientales department is likely to record significant rainfall, since some models see 100 to 200 mm,” explain Weather Languedoc.

The site specializing in storm risks, Keraunos, clarified on X that the cold drop which formed in the north of France will descend towards the south. “It is clearly visible on the sat water vapor image. It will migrate towards the south of Portugal by Thursday. Risk of rain in the South-East between Tuesday morning and Thursday morning”, specifies Keraunos.

Precipitation is also expected to affect the Valencia region, in Spain, already devastated by the latest floods which left more than 200 dead. 120 mm of rain is expected in the region explains Weather alarm.
