It’s the last straight line. Two weeks before the first round of the 2024 legislative elections, the prefecture of Seine-et-Marne has formalized the names of the candidates in the 11 constituencies in the department.

73 candidates in Seine-et-Marne

Unlike the 2022 election where the number of candidates was quite high, only 73 will compete this year to win the mandate of deputy.

In southern Seine-et-Marne, the presidential majority holds three constituencies with Aude Luquet (MoDem), Frédéric Valletoux (Horizons) and Michèle Peyron (Renaissance). She will find candidates from both left and far-right blocs on her way.

By uniting under the banner of the New Popular Front, the left will present candidates in each constituency. For southern Seine-et-Marne, these will be LFI or PS candidates.

LRs invested by the RN

On the right of the political spectrum, the RN is advancing with members of the LR in its ranks. Thus, in addition to the Republican Théo Michel invested in the constituency of Melun, the Lepéniste party supports the mayor of Seine-Port LR, Vincent Paul-Petit, in the constituency held by Olivier Faure (PS).

For their part, The Republicans have only nominated four candidates across the 77, including only 3 for the south of the department.
