As part of its ongoing support for the agricultural sector and the various production sectors, Crédit Agricole du Maroc organized, on Thursday June 13, an exchange seminar around the regulation of activities relating to the legal use of cannabis.

This event, to which the National Agency for the Regulation of Activities Relating to Cannabis (ANRAC) and several operators in the cannabis development ecosystem were invited, helped enrich the debates on this issue and was an opportunity to discuss the different aspects linked to the regulations governing this activity as well as the financial support offered by the Bank for the different players in the sector.

It highlighted the positive impact of the regulation on farmers’ income and the opportunities that this presents in terms of creating added value for the provinces concerned by this crop.

ANRAC thus presented the main regulatory and procedural provisions concerning the cannabis sector, on the different legal uses of cannabis in Morocco and on the Agency’s missions in terms of regulation, support for farmers and operators and development and promotion of this sector.

The CAM has affirmed its desire to support valorization investments in areas authorized to cultivate, produce and exploit cannabis, through all of its structures (Bank and subsidiaries) and the mobilization of its distribution network in the regions concerned to, on the one hand, support the deployment of this ambitious regional development project and support operators in carrying out their investment projects and on the other hand, promote the financial inclusion of the populations of these areas .

Mr. Fikrat, Chairman of the CAM Board of Directors, declared “We are proud to be able to support this structuring project for regions known for cannabis cultivation. We put our financial and technical expertise in the agricultural field at the service of this impactful national project which is the development of a value-creating sector both for the farmers and operators concerned as well as for the growing areas which will experience, without any doubt, an overhaul of their economic model and socio-economic development of their territories. This is in line with our ambition to further develop our civic engagement through this type of initiative serving our partners in the agricultural and rural sector.”
