At Carneville Castle (Manche), the season has already started. THE 80e anniversary of the liberation of the municipality provides the opportunity to take stock of the novelties offered on the estate.
“To mark this historic eventindicates Guillaume Garbe, we are organizing a Liberation celebration on Saturday 29 and the Sunday June 30, 2024. Reconstructions, photo exhibitions and testimonies will follow one another throughout the weekend and one Liberty Ball will be hosted by the Impasse des Vertus group. Of the guided tours and one local market will also be offered to visitors. »
New part
During summera new museum piece will be opened in theold music room :
The historical souvenirs acquired at the beginning of the year by the Association of Friends of the Château de Carneville will be exhibited here. In addition to seven family portraits, we will find archives dating back to emigration and going all the way back to Babette von Carneville, who was very close to Ludwig II of Bavaria. A small part of the piece will be left as is to show the importance of the work carried out against dry rot and detail the techniques used.
A new accommodation offer
Furthermore, since the May, Anaëlle Guedez, who continues her guide-lecturer studiesat the Cnam of Cherbourg, offers a children’s Wednesday: every week, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., children are welcomed for a guided tour specially adapted to their expectations, followed by a educational workshop .
My workshops are designed for children aged 6 to 13. The themes are very varied. After preparing the table for the count and the countess, other themes are in preparation such as an introduction to painting with vegetable ink or percussion and rhythms in the park. Registration costs 14 euros, but includes one accompanying adult per child.
Finally, the Carneville estate has evolved its accommodation offer . “So far, theold stately homeof 1699 was reserved for weddings, explains Guillaume. Thanks to works carried out this winter we can now offer a family tourist lodgeopen all year. »
It was to Nathalie Travert that Guillaume Garbe entrusted the managementof this accommodation. “I fell in love with the site during my first visit,” confides Nathalie Travert.
I immediately wanted to get involved in it. For several months we have worked to refresh and modernize the accommodation in the Anoteux Manor. We can now accommodate thirteen people in a friendly and comfortable place. Since opening in May, we have already welcomed a group of ten horsemen and another group of Finnish paratroopers who came to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Landings.
