The operational committee to combat environmental crime, COLDEN, was established in Tarn on April 24, 2024. It is increasing control operations in search of illicit deposits in the department.
Four sites, in Lescure d'Albigeois, Coufouleux, Giroussens and Rabastens, were scrutinized by these new environmental police during the week of November 4 to 8, 2024 on the theme of waste management and illegal deposits. .
These checks involved the internal security forces, the police and the gendarmerie, the regional directorate for the environment, planning and housing and the departmental territorial directorate with a single objective: to ferret out cheaters.
The checks concerned two companies, an association and an individual: “Several offenses have been noted and legal or administrative procedures, depending on the seriousness of the breaches identified, are underway.specifies the Albi public prosecutor in a press release.
COLDEN was created on September 13, 2023 to ensure coordination between public prosecutors' offices, investigative services and administrative authorities responsible for combating environmental attacks. It should make it possible to speed up proceedings against companies or individuals who leave their waste in the open.
