Legislative elections 2024: MP Michel Castellani is returning to the campaign in the 1st constituency of Haute-Corse.

This is not a surprise, but it is a mandatory exercise for every candidate. Michel Castellani, deputy for the 1st constituency of Haute-Corse for 7 years, announced this Saturday, June 15, his candidacy for his own re-election following the announcement by the President of the Republic on June 9 of the dissolution of the Assembly National.

It was in Nelson Mandela Square, in the southern districts of Bastia, in front of around a hundred elected officials, executives and activists from Femu a Corsica that the MP made his announcement. To motivate his troops in this short electoral campaign, the outgoing MP mainly mentioned his record: “the advantage for the outgoing MP is all the work that I have accomplished every day for 7 years. If you had a candidate who had been lax, obviously the voters could have said: “we will look elsewhere”. But I was on the field every day. »

In a campaign marked by the success of the far right in the European elections, Michel Castellani did not avoid the theme of immigration: “we have two principles which must guide us, humanism because we do not speak of goods but of human beings, but also a principle of reality, controlling flows and fighting against communitarianism. It is not enough to raise your voice and simply make it a campaign objective. It would be too easy if all you had to do was get on a table to solve this problem.”
