The Virades de l'Espoir association met on the evening of Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Moustoir-Ac, to present the financial results of the 2024 edition. The figures are very good since it made it possible to collect more of €124,000 in favor of Overcoming Cystic Fibrosis. Many volunteers and donors were present during this evening.
In 2024, seven sites organized these Virades in the department: Arzon and the Rhuys peninsula (€3,082 collected), Billio (€20,641), Grand-Champ (€8,997), Larmor-Plage (€27,140). ), Moëlan-sur-Mer (€8,447), Théhillac (€9,414) and Locminé (€44,090 €). Organizers and volunteers are satisfied because terrible weather on Virades Sunday forced the cancellation of many activities.
10,105 visitors and 350 volunteers mobilized in 2024
Morbihan is very committed to the fight against cystic fibrosis. In 2024, the actions brought together 10,105 visitors, 2,780 schoolchildren, 778 walkers, 80 cyclists, 315 mountain bikers, 715 motorcyclists, 10 pilots, 80 rollerbladers, 85 shuffleboard players, 40 bowlers, 525 takeaway meals, 1,120 people who participated in lotteries, fest-deiz, concerts, and above all 350 volunteers in action, including 120 in Locminé. Everyone was thanked: “Science is progressing, new drugs are prescribed and improve the daily life and health of the patients who benefit from them, not everyone can do this yet.”
Testimonies from patients at the end of the evening reaffirmed the importance of perpetuating these Virades, which were created almost 40 years ago. An appointment has been made for next year, in September, for the 2025 edition. 50% of the revenue from Vaincre la cystic fibrosis comes from Virades.
