The restaurant La Marine, on the island of Noirmoutier, is back in the international ranking of 100 best restaurants in the world. Chef Alexandre Couillon returns to the world ranking “The Best Chef” which rewards the best chefs around the world. He is positioned in 34th place.
On his Instagram account, he rejoices:
“It’s an incredible event that we’ve been waiting for two years! Finally, the moment has arrived – Navy is back in the international rankings, and it's not just a victory, it's a joy for our entire crew! Well done everyone”
He had already joined this ranking in 2021. The City of Noirmoutier-en-L'Île sent him its congratulations on its Facebook page.
Many distinctions
Throughout his professional career, Alexandre Couillon racked up the distinctions. In 2002, the restaurant La Marine entered the Michelin guide, with a Bib gourmand. He earned his first star in 2007. In 2013, La Marine obtained a second star.
He was crowned “Cook of the Year” by Gault et Millau in 2017. In 2022, it obtains 17th place in an OAD (Opinioned About Dining) list bringing together the 100 best restaurants in Europe. In 2023, it obtained a third star in the Michelin guide, a star retained in 2024.
