In Saint-Dizier, boxing has been a major discipline for (very) many years. Several clubs share the rings of Nord Haut-Marnais, and Royal Boxing is obviously one of them. Like every year, this one also sets up its gala, but with a little particularity: the meeting rotates regularly throughout the region and not necessarily in the Bragarde city. Jérémy Bernardin (father, coach and director of the association) and his teams have the desire to “to democratize a little the noble art in places where boxing is not (or no longer) established”.

This is how this Saturday, June 15 (from 7 p.m.), Royal Boxing crosses the departmental border to set up its gala near Bar-le-Duc. “It’s been seven years since the Barisiens last organized the slightest meeting and vibrated for our discipline”assure the volunteers of the Haut-Marne club. “But the Dumas room lends itself very well to this. Furthermore, when we suggested coming to the Meuse town, the associations really welcomed us with open arms”. Barely a few kilometers from Saint-Dizier, Meusiens and Haut-Marnais can easily come together to be enthusiastic together for an evening full of fights.

Indeed, no less than 21 fights are planned bringing together boxers from throughout the Champardennais and Paris region, including fifteen pugilists from Haut-Marne and nine from the organizing club. The latter will therefore be accompanied by some colleagues from the Saint-Dizier 52 club. A superb opportunity for these departmental representatives to export their emerging or real talent outside their usual comfort, while remaining pampered in the benevolent “cocoon” of their “ heart club”.

As is often the case, the program will begin at 7 p.m. with a few educational boxing fights. No less than fourteen amateur duels will then follow, before the apotheosis of a professional fight between the Rémois Ibrahim Traoré and the Serbian Kristijan Djokovic.

These twenty face-to-face meetings will be interspersed with two intermissions during which Barisians will be able to meet two local associations, also involved in the organization. Indeed, the Barisian kick boxing and muay thai clubs will perform some demonstrations. All under the caring eyes of a godfather and godmother from Haute-Marne. Jérémy Bernardin (son), WBC youth world champion (under 24) in 2023, will be there, as will Clothilde Del Ben, double French champion.

A few days before the event, more than 300 people had already acquired their tickets during the pre-sale, auguring great popular fervor for this Saturday evening, eagerly awaited in the Meuse prefecture.
