“Can I see Aretha?” Initiated by the Friborg organization Mille Sept Sans, this phrase allows you to discreetly request help and trigger a treatment procedure in a number of demonstrations, following harassing behavior. As part of the celebrations of the feminist strike of June 14, 1991, the Municipality of Payerne announced that it wanted to extend this charter to its public domain. She thus launches an appeal to public establishments and regular organizers of events to sign the “Aretha charter”.

The charter has already been signed by the Red Pigs Festival, the 15th edition of which is held until Saturday on the Place du Marché, and by the Octopus Festival. For signatories, the association’s initial training will be offered by the city to the personnel concerned. In particular, it is a question of fighting against “all non-consensual behavior manifested in public places and which expresses intimidating, disrespectful, insulting, humiliating, insistent or threatening messages”, announces Payerne.
