The official announcement of his candidacy was to take place this Thursday, June 13. Instead, Marc Le Fur, deputy for the third constituency of Côtes-d’Armor, announced his withdrawal from political life to lead another fight, that against cancer, which struck him a few months ago.
To take his place, he announced support for his son, Corentin Le Fur. The latter was studied at HEC and at the Journalist Training Center (CFJ). Aged 34, he has worked for around ten years at the National Assembly as a project manager on budget and finance issues. He has also been a municipal councilor in Quintin since 2020.
The tenor of the Breton right had already been elected five times, with a comfortable score of 41.7% in the first round in 2022, almost 20 points ahead of his left-wing competitor. The elected LR was therefore undoubtedly the favorite of this next election. He and his entourage, such as senator LR Alain Cadec, did not hide their confidence in victory. It is up to his heir to take over.
