It's a tradition in Aveyron: November 11 rhymes with footballers' Christmas.

The event organized in favor of Restos du coeur will be back on Monday, for a 19th edition. Like last year, six fields in the department will welcome young footballers: in the west, La Fouillade, in the northwest, Viviez, in the center, Druelle and Sébazac, and in the south, and Saint-Affrique.

Although we are still a long way from decorating the tree for the holidays, the Footballers' Christmas will allow the association founded by Coluche to collect toys, games and even books which will be offered to the beneficiary families. And it is the young Aveyron licensees, from U6 to U13, who will make these donations. They will meet at one of the six sites at 9:30 a.m., before the opening ceremony, during which they will read a word of support. Then the set, in the five-a-side football format, will begin at 10:30 a.m. “It is not a question of competition, but of an event under the sign of solidarity”underlines Candy Evrard-Roumec, who organizes the meeting with Pierre Doutre, as part of the federal educational program for the District of Aveyron. The more than 300 teams registered, “distributed evenly across the department”, will take a break at noon, then resume the tournament which will end around 3:30 p.m.
