One level after another. In an interview with Le Parisien – Today in France, at the end of September, Raphaël Glucksmann explained that he wanted to make his party a “major political force”. After having organized, for the first time, his political return, at the beginning of October, in Gironde, the MEP is taking a new step. In December, he will inaugurate “a Parisian headquarters which will serve as our national headquarters,” confides Saïd Benmouffok, representative of Place publique in the capital. The premises will be located rue Saint-Maur (10th arrondissement), in eastern Paris. “We allow ourselves to think big. This will give us a headquarters to organize internal meetings but also public meetings. This is an important moment for our activists,” adds the official.
It is in the capital that Place publique has the most troops with 1,300 members (out of 11,000 claimed in France), as many as the Parisian PS. There Glucksmann achieved his best scores during the Europeans in June. There also where he found some recruits among those close to Anne Hidalgo: in the wake of senator Bernard Jomier, the deputy mayors Arnaud Ngatcha, Olivia Polski and Christophe Najdovski took their cards from Place publique.
