Avesnes-sur-Helpe (Hauts-de-), Bonifacio (Corse), Firminy (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and Quimper (), the four telethon ambassador cities are preparing the arrival of France Télévisions on their land for the 2024 edition of the Telethon. Ambassador city of the Telethon for the third time, in 1994 and 2001, the city of art and history and capital of Cornwall is proud to announce that it will mobilize to mark its 35 years of participation in the charitable event organized by theAFM Telethonassociation fighting against myopathies and neuromuscular and orphan diseases. The Quimper program

Challenges and highlights: a large gathering of bagads, local pride! Musicians from Quimper and its surrounding areas will come together for a grandiose show on Friday evening. At the same time, there will be a torchlight parade by local students and concerts by local groups on the same evening.

The pancake marathon will aim to make 10,000 pancakes in 30 hours, a record which will mobilize all generations of participants, numerous families and local associations.

Breton dance enthusiasts will be invited to try to beat the record for the longest gavottea traditional Breton dance: The gavotte glazig in the fashion of Quimper is danced in couples and in procession; The riders are to the left of their rider. The couples advance slowly one behind the other…

Breton games competitions will bring children and adults together around friendly activities. And local athletes will be offered the opportunity to take on swimming and badminton challenges for 30 hours within municipal infrastructures.

In two ambassador cities, the first launch evenings have already taken place: Quimper (29) opened the ball with a pancake evening and Avesnes-sur-Helpe (59) with a tasting of Maroilles. The mobilization was there in both cities with a great mobilization.

Quimper expects many visitors. With its united spirit and dynamism, the city will become a pillar of this struggle on November 29 and 30, 2024.
