After the refusal of many clubs to release their players for the Olympic Games (from July 24 to August 9), Thierry Henry decided to call Rayan Cherki, Chrislain Matsima and Andy Diouf for the Blues preparation camp which will begin on June 16 in Clairefontaine.

At the time of the announcement of his first prelist on June 3, Thierry Henry already knew that it would be impossible to bring players from Real Madrid and had to endure refusals from English clubs Aston Villa for Moussa Diaby, Arsenal for William Saliba and Chelsea for Malo Gusto and Benoît Badiashile.

Cascading refusals, notably from Lille and Paris

Since then, the Blues coach has had a string of bad news. First by learning of the vetoes of PSG and LOSC to release Warren Zaire-Emery, Bradley Barcola, Lucas Chevalier, Bafodé Diakité and Lenny Yoro. Then it was Bayern Munich which communicated its desire not to part ways with its striker Mathys Tel.

All these unforeseen events forced Thierry Henry to review his prelist for the Olympic tournament with his three new arrivals. Another player aged over 23 should also complete the final list, which will be made up of 22 players (18 elements + 4 reserves).

The Blues will meet at Clairefontaine on June 16 to begin the preparation camp. They will play a first friendly match against Paraguay on July 4 in Bayonne. They will then face the Dominican Republic on July 11, then Japan on July 17, before starting the Olympics against the United States on July 24 in Marseille.
