In the quarter-final of the Open, Alex Michelsen won in 3 sets against Yunchaokete Bu on the central court of the Arènes de and qualified for the last four.

There was only one left! And it is Alex Michelsen who qualifies for the semi-final of the Moselle Open ATP 250. The American wins his match against the Chinese in 3 sets: 6-7 (8) / 6-2 / 6-4. He now remains the last seed remaining in the tournament. He can start dreaming of his first major tournament title in his young career.

Until now, Alex Michelsen had only faced French Wild Card holders. A journey that has been successful for him. To start, he plays against Messin, Harold Mayot. A match that he won easily (6-3 / 6-1). Then, it's Richard Gasquet's turn to take on number 44 in the ATP rankings. An ultra tight match, concluded in 3 sets with each time, a Tie-Break to determine the winner (6-7 (7) / 7-6 (7) / 7-6 (10)). A match considered one of the most beautiful of this 2024 edition.

For his part, Yunchaokete Bu won his match against another French veteran, Adrian Mannarino (7-6 (7) / 6-4). In the next round, number 72 in the AT rankings faces a player from qualifying, Jesper De Jong. A match won quite easily by the Chinese in 2 sets (6-4 / 7-6 (7)).

From now on, the winner of the match, Alex Michelsen, will face Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi in the semi-final, to hope to secure a place in the final of the Moselle Open.
