Her husband, aged 70, was found in critical condition. He was first transported to the Chalon-sur-Saône hospital center before being transferred to Dijon, where he is still hospitalized.
According to a source close to the investigation, he killed his wife by stabbing her in the chest, before attempting to end his life by cutting his throat. His state of health has not yet allowed investigators to interview him.

Emotions are running high in the small village of Marmagne, this couple of former farmers were well known to the residents. “They are part of the historic farming families in the area. Their farm (taken over by their son) seemed to be doing well. I don't think they had any problems, at least they didn't show anything in public”confides Mayor Didier Lauberat to the JSL.
The Chalon-sur-Saône public prosecutor's office has opened a flagrant investigation into intentional homicide. The investigations were entrusted to the Autun gendarmerie.
