Maine-et-Loire. Noise pollution: 10 anti-wind turbine associations call on the prefect

Around ten associations from Maine-et- came together to challenge the prefect of the department in order to make their demands heard against the development of wind projects and their fears regarding non-compliance with certain regulations. The 10 associations indicate: “The noise impact of wind turbines is highly regulated in , the promises of acoustic control are constant and reaffirmed by both wind developers and the administration. However, in Maine et Loire, experience shows that this control is not carried out: In Tigné, for example, stopping is obligatory at night “as soon as the wind speed is between 5 and 9 m/s “. But this obligation has not once been respected by the promoter for 7 years. Despite written requests from local residents, the prefect does not react. The inertia of the administration is a problem which consolidates the rejection of wind power in the countryside. » According to them, the problem of non-compliance comes from the fact that “the administration delegates acoustic control to the wind power developer as part of a self-verification: The DREALs seem to have neither the technical training nor the means to ensure controls over several weeks. It is then enough for the wind developer to send very technical reports to the prefecture, the few lines of conclusions of which will be reassuring. they regret. “While we ourselves are concerned by a wind project, the lack of monitoring of the Tigné wind farm for 7 years worries us (…) You will understand that this situation is a source of concern and questions for our members. By this letter, we ask you to kindly, finally, require the wind farm developer of Tigné to respect its commitments in terms of restrictions (…). We are waiting for a strong signal from the Maine et Loire prefecture on the control and compliance with wind energy regulations,” they write in this letter sent during the month of October.

The 10 associations: Authentic Luigné Association; Authentic Chavagnes Association; DELIVRE Association of Louroux Béconnais; APELANJOU Association of Longuenée in Anjou; Tiercé 3 Rivières Sustainable Environment Association; Wind association of douessines roses; Association Plus Belle notre Verzée de Armaillé; MDR environment association of Dénezé sous Doué; Association Vent Debout in the Layon de Thouarcé Valley; Nueil sur Layon-Lys Haut Layon Environment Association.
