The police carried out numerous checks throughout the day in the neighborhoods of Nîmes on Tuesday in order to combat drug trafficking. An apartment which was searched by investigators with the discovery of 14,000 euros hidden in a mattress. The tenant of the premises was unable to provide proof of this sum of money and proceedings were initiated against him.
Furthermore, a little earlier on the same day and still in the same area, the police arrested a young man who had a bag containing illicit products packaged for sale. Around sixty doses of cannabis resin and 14 doses of cocaine were seized. The suspect is in police custody.
