The explosion occurred shortly after 8 a.m. this Thursday morning in Valencia. The firefighters arrived on site, avenue Maurice-Faure, at number 183, the Beauharnais building. They must treat at least one injured person at the scene of the explosion.
Around thirty firefighters were mobilized on site and the street was closed to traffic in its southern part, near the building. According to the first elements collected on site, a resident wanted to end his life, turned on the gas in his fifth-floor apartment, which caused the explosion. He then hung from the railing before jumping into the void, into the interior courtyard. Taken care of by emergency services, his vital prognosis is in jeopardy.
The six-story building was completely evacuated. In total, 13 residents were welcomed into the house for all in the Valensolles district. “Structural” experts must analyze the building and the damage before residents can return to their homes.
The blast from the explosion shattered windows of cars parked in front of the building.
