The hosts of these two shows will therefore be with us around the microphones of Radio Libertaire, to discuss the already long history of these two shows. Other hosts will be present to share this moment and inform us of the latest news from their shows.
**This afternoon's program is currently being developed and will be available for consultation on the Publico Info website http://www.librairie-publico.info/?…
Looking to the past also invites us to think about the future. We will discuss the threats weighing on the financing of Radio Libertaire, at a time when budgetary projects provide for clear cuts in the financing of community radio stations.
Libertarian Radio on Alert !
Dear listening friends, dear listening friends,
Radio Libertaire, like around 700 community radio stations spread across France, is endangered by the 2025 finance bill !
This bill provides for a 30% reduction in funding allocated to the Radio Expression Support Fund (FSER for close friends).
But what is the FSER ?
Created in 1982, the FSER aims to enable community radio stations to carry out, I quote, “their mission of local social communication in the territories”.
Until 2008, this fund consisted of revenue from a tax based on the sums paid by advertisers for the broadcast of advertising messages on radio and television.
Since 2009, they have come from a flat-rate allocation from the state budget and are allocated by order of the Minister of Culture and Communication.
This process has often been used by the State to monopolize resources which were managed without its intervention (fund to secure the pension system, attempt to take control of the reserves of the Agirc-Arrco regime, takeover of insurance schemes unemployment, Social Security, under the pretext of deficits sometimes organized by the State). It's unbearable !!!
RL requests and receives each year the “operating subsidy” which, if automatic, requires completing numerous files and providing the supporting documents that go with it.
It represents more than two thirds of its budget. Radio Libertaire having no employees, its activity is based, remember, on volunteers, its entire budget goes into operations.
For other radio stations, those which have employees, it will be necessary to lay off workers. For some, it will simply be the end of the adventure.
Under the guise of budgetary rigor, it is the opportunity to rid the landscape of independent or slightly too rebellious players. In these times of extreme right-wing, there is reason to worry.
For the moment, we are in contact with the various representative structures of community radio stations such as SNRL or the CNRA who are already calling for mobilization.
You know that you can help us with donations by going to the website RL“Funding / Support us” tab. But above all, spread the information and prepare for mobilization for Radio Libertaire and all other radio stations that are still free.
