More than a week after the rising waters which devastated part of Spain, solidarity actions are being put in place. The town of Rodez (Aveyron) is organizing a giant paella to help the victims. The Dispatch announces that all donations will be donated to the city of Valencia and the surrounding area, the main region affected by the bad weather.
With 217 deaths, Spain is struggling to recover from this climatic catastrophe. Throughout Europe, mutual aid is being organized to help the Valencia region rebuild. The city of Rodez proposed an original action: a giant paella on Saturday November 16. The event will take place on the second floor of the town hall.
A meal already organized in 2023
The city of Rodez is not at its first attempt since the municipality had already organized an event of this type for Morocco in 2023. More than 400 guests responded to support the Moroccans who were facing a terrible earthquake.
Rodez town hall hopes that the giant paella will have the same crowds to help Spain and the Valencia region. The price of the paella will be free for the inhabitants of Rodez and the proceeds will be donated in full.
