Thursday November 7 at 9 p.m., the French women's basketball team welcomes its Israeli counterpart to the Palais des Sports in Caen (Calvados) as part of the qualifications for Euro 2025.
A team of minesweepers
The international context has led the Calvados prefecture to adopt a reinforced security system. Before the meeting, a team of deminers will work to “safeguard” the site. Police reinforcements, which have not been detailed, will also be present.
The authorities indicate that “Traffic restrictions will be in place from 7 p.m.”. So, Boulevard Yves-Guillou will be closed in both directions. The same goes for the D405 (route de Louvigny) and rue de Maltot.
Favor exit no. 11
Due to the closure of the D405 (route de Louvigny), “Exit No. 10 of the western ring road towards Caen center is strongly not recommended for going to the city center”adds the prefecture.
To reach the Palais des sports or the city center of Caen, “Motorists will have to take exit No. 11 of the southern ring road towards Fleury-sur-Orne”.
