The Parisian majority denounces the consequences that the finance bill could have on the City's coffers. If it were voted on as is, it would amount to “take the equivalent of 320 euros per household” according to her.

“The government's draft budget plans to tax up to 320 euros per family”protested Paul Simondon on Twitter this Wednesday morning. The deputy mayor of Paris in charge of finances and budget even mentions “an unprecedented attack against Parisians”. At issue according to the elected official: the five billion euros in savings requested from local authorities as part of the finance bill, as envisaged to date. They would represent for the capital between 300 and 350 million euros in less revenue, according to estimates by the socialist municipality. A real «hold-up» organized by the government “on the cities and departments which are nevertheless not responsible for the bankruptcy of the State”reacts the deputy, who recalls the central role of communities, first to “ensuring essential public services on a daily basis”.
