This 23-year-old Risoulin was sentenced to 20 months in prison, including 12 months of suspended probation with a committal warrant, Wednesday November 6.
The driver behind a chase at more than 200km/h between Gap and Chorges (Hautes-Alpes) on Monday evening, November 4, was sentenced to eight months in prison, BFM DICI learned.
“The defendant, tried today (Wednesday, November 6, Editor's note), was sentenced to 20 months in prison, 12 of which were suspended on probation with a committal warrant, as well as a fine of 1,000 euros,” indicates Marion Lozac 'hmeur, public prosecutor of Gap.
A 23 year old man
This resident of Risoul was tried in immediate appearance at the court of Gap Wednesday afternoon, after leading a dangerous chase between Gap and Choir group on the evening of Monday, November 4. As a reminder, multiple facts are accused of the suspect.
“Refusal to comply aggravated by endangerment in view of the very dangerous conduct adopted between Gap and Prunières, rebellion and driving while intoxicated”, lists Marion Lozac'hmeur, the public prosecutor of Gap.
This is not the man's first attempt. This original Risoulin had already been convicted in the past for acts of violence and especially traffic offenses.
Monday evening, this 23-year-old man took all the risks to try to escape the police. that evening, a police patrol spotted a vehicle driving at high speed on Avenue d'Embrun. Despite requests from the police, the driver refused to comply, notably using a parking lot to try to outrun the police.
The vehicle then entered the RN94, in the direction of Chorges, at very high speed with all lights off, overtaking without visibility and crossing continuous white lines.
Police car hit
On his route, the driver had crossed the 200 km/h mark to get to Chorges. But at the Baie Saint-Michel junction, the police ended up catching up with the vehicle.
During the intervention, the suspect hit the police car. The man was finally arrested a little further away, when he was stuck in a cul-de-sac.
During his arrest, the individual rebelled but was eventually overpowered and placed in police custody. A young female passenger was also in the vehicle.
