Fog warning, againon the North – Pas-de- for the day of Thursday, November 7, 2024. It is typically the weather conditions that require increased vigilance to road users, whether by car, motorbike or bicycle. And they are present, more or less strongly, in the region every morning of the week since Monday. Rebelote, Thursday: fog banks, dense in placesare again announced by Météo .

Fog especially in the lands of -Pas-de-Calais, and the towns are not spared

As in the previous days, they will mainly concern the interior. From Flanders to Avesnois, with towns that will be no exception either : the fog is forecast to be opaque especially near Tournehem-sur-la-Hem, Wismes, Fruges, Strazeele, but also at Lille, Arras, Béthune, Saint-Omer

It will dissipate over hours, again. This is the last morning where these foggy banks will reign over the region: Météo France forecasts, at least for Friday November 8 and Saturday November 9, much brighter mornings with sunshine. Be careful, the fog could return on Sunday… We'll talk about it again before then.

As a reminder, the phenomenon has been stretching across the entire North of France for a week now. It is due to the anticyclone blocked in the south of the territory, with very weak winds, causing “low levels”, and therefore these fogs. The soils, after the record rains of recent months, are still saturated with water, and it is a very favorable situation, with lots of humidity and natural cooling, while the hot air at altitude blocks everything, like a lid over a large northern half of France.
