France-Israel basketball match: traffic restrictions around the Palais des sports Caen la mer

Summit match this Thursday at the Palais des sports in -la-mer. As part of the qualifying for Euro 2025the French women's basketball team will face the Israel team. Match kicks off at 9 p.m. In order to ensure security around the event, the prefecture has decided to put in place traffic restrictions in the area from 7 p.m..

Several axes will be closed in both directions of traffic:

– The boulevard Yves Guilloufrom the intersection between rue Caponière and avenue Henry Chéron in the west to the intersection of boulevard du Petit Vallerent in the east

– The D405 (Louvigny road)

– The rue de Maltot to the intersection with rue du Plateau Fleuri.

Diversions are in place to reach the P1 general public car park at the exhibition center:

• THE users arriving from the west from boulevard Yves Guillou will have to take the following route: rue Caponière, rue Guillaume le Conquérant, place Fontette, place Guillouard, avenue Albert Sorel, boulevard du Petit Vallerent towards the Cavée viaduct.

• THE users arriving from the east from Boulevard Yves Guillou will have to take Boulevard du Petit Vallerent towards the Cavée viaduct.

Due to the closure of the D405 (route de Louvigny), the exit No. 10 of the west ring road towards Caen-centre is strongly discouraged to get to the city center. To reach the Palais des sports or the city center of Caen, motorists will have to take the exit No. 11 from the southern ring road towards Fleury-sur-Orne.

The public will have to park on the parking lot P1 of the exhibition center.
