An official presentation of student projects
Present every two years in the national park, the master 1 students of the National School of Landscape of Marseille set course this year for Embrunais to try out a life-size exercise: imagining and drawing the future of the commune around four major themes and workplaces. New this year, each topic was covered by two groups of students. After two stays on site and meetings with residents and stakeholders in the town, the project ended with the official presentation of the boards created by the students on October 18. In front of the mayor, the former mayor, their teachers, National Park agents and some residents, they presented and defended their proposals.
Each project is presented in a dedicated page: the collective work of the group and three individual zooms on a problem.
Thinking about a “station” strategy for the 21ste century: new connections and new centralities between the fort, the station and Réallon
The hamlets of Réallon: a potential for sociability to invent public spaces in the mountains tomorrow
The Réallon torrent as the backbone of the encounter between amplified natural risks, revealed heritage and renewed tourism
The new living spaces on the borders of Réallon: relying on the “wild” to observe and experience the transition
Credible avenues for the future of the municipality
The students benefited from attentive listening to their audience. As Frédéric Sabatier, built heritage project manager at the National Park, explains, “Their proposals are serious and realistic and represent real avenues for the future. Students from previous years were perhaps more utopian and ambitious”. The current and past mayors found this work interesting, especially since elements already proposed during a previous study on the development of the municipality were found in the students' proposals. These are therefore good ideas identified at the time which have been brought up to date: creation of pedestrian connections and paths between the hamlets and in the resort, enhancement of the hamlets and heritage sites, etc.
It is the project around the Réallon station which has sparked the most debate. The students started with an all-ski model and proposed a diversification of activities, but which is already at work currently…
The students' boards can be discovered at the Réallon town hall. They will soon be exhibited at the Parc de l'Embrunais house, in Châteauroux-les-Alpes.
