The Luberon Regional Natural Park and the Vaucluse Chamber of Agriculture have signed a partnership agreement with a view to support local agricultureon the occasion of the Med'Agri exhibition. Thus, the president of the Vaucluse Chamber of Agriculture Georgia Lambertin and the president of the Luberon Regional Natural Park (PNR) Dominique Santoni are committed to serving farmers and intend through this agreement working together in favor of agricultural activitiespastoral and forestry of the park.
According to the Luberon PNR charter, the Chamber will provide support to the structuring of sectors, installation and transmission, supporting farms and sectors in their adaptation to climate change. This agreement also includes the preservation of agricultural land, the promotion of agricultural products and short circuits, the Bienvenue à la ferme network, and the Valeurs Parc brand.
Agriculture, the keystone of the local economy
For the president of the Luberon Regional Natural Park Dominique Santoni: “Because our two structures are committed to serving farmers, they aim, through this agreement, to act and work together towards agricultural, pastoral and forestry activities, keystones of the local economy and the Parc du Parc project. Luberon, for sustainable agriculture, remunerative, respectful of the women and men of the territory, and the environment.
This collaboration between the Luberon PNR, the Vaucluse Chamber of Agriculture and that of the Alpes de Haute-Provence has been effective for a long time through projects developed and implemented for the benefit of local farmers. In the same way as for agro-environmental and climate projects (PAEC) which allow farmers to benefit from financial compensation when they make changes to their irrigation model in order to save water resources and adapt to the climate change.
