Savoie, a land of innovation for amateur cyclists
Two stages for men and women in Savoie. The traditional one will be accompanied by a second stage in 2025, unprecedented, organized in parallel with the Women's Tour. Two stages which promise demanding courses for the participants.
On the tracks of professionals
The first will be held on July 20, 2025 on a mountain route between Albertville and La Plagne. That is, five days before the male professional cyclists cross the same passes. The second, a big novelty, will take place on August 2 on the route of the Tour de France women, between Chambéry and the Col de la Madeleine. Fans will thus be able to ride a few hours before the riders of the 8th stage of the Women's Tour.
Five climbs
The Etape du Tour, on July 20, promises amateur cyclists a daunting journey of 131 kilometers and 4,500 meters of elevation gain, with no less than five climbs. They will tackle the famous Alpine slopes, including the Côte d'Héry-sur-Ugine, the Col des Saisies, the Col du Pré, and the Cormet de Roselend, for a spectacular arrival in La Plagne. The passage of professional riders on July 24, arriving at altitude in Courchevel, will bring a high point to this week of cycling in Savoie.
Opening of registrations in two phases
Registrations for the Etape du Tour between Albertville and La Plagne opened this Tuesday, with pre-reservation for participants from previous editions. The general registration phase continues today at 4 p.m. For the second stage, you will have to wait until November 20. Note that the race is open to everyone, licensed or not, subject to being aged 18 in 2025. The organizers already recommend booking accommodation, as hotels are quickly full for this event.
