End of course for Richard Gasquet at the Moselle Open

For his round of 16 at the Open, veteran Richard Gasquet lost at the end of the suspense during his match against Alex Michelsen.

The Frenchman's one-handed backhand against the American's enthusiasm was not enough. Richard Gasquet will have completed his last match of the Moselle Open with honors. Against Alex Michelsen, the Bitterois lost in an ultra-close match: 6-7 (7) / 7-6 (7) / 7-6 (10). A Tie-Break for each set. The two players will have put on a magnificent show for the spectators. Richard Gasquet won the first set after getting scared when he saw his opponent coming back. Alex Michelsen made 13 aces. In the final set, the American played at the net. By varying the distances, the veteran Gasquet had to run a lot, which must surely have affected the final result, after more than 2 hours 40 minutes of play.
