The Occitanie League and the Haute-Garonne Football District say “stop attacks on educators”. In a press release, the two authorities announced this Tuesday, November 5, the cancellation of all football matches in the region on the weekend of November 9 and 10, in support of the US Colomiers club which has started eve after being the target of violent attacks.
On the night of October 28 to 29, two U11 educators from US Colomiers football (Haute-Garonne) were victims of arson. Their vehicles were destroyed but the house of one of the coaches was also damaged.
“Every week, these educators stand on the sidelines, to guide, encourage and teach young players, despite the difficulties and sometimes the hostility they encounterindicated the League of Occitanie and the District of Haute-Garonne jointly in a press release. Today, these behaviors are reaching an unacceptable level. This weekend, we say together that without educators, there is no football. »
To help one of the coaches and his family, forced to be rehoused, an online fundraiser was opened. “Together, let’s make this weekend raise awareness for respectful football, for the well-being of our educators”added the two authorities.
In response to the press release from the Ligue d'Occitanie and the District of Haute-Garonne on social networks, Toulouse FC showed its support for the club in its department and supported the decision of the two authorities.
