In the Landes de Football District, the cause of breast cancer is not limited to the month of October. Indeed, this disease which affects 61,214 new women per year is a real issue all year round.
This is why we have the chance to present HOLI to you today.
What is HOLI?
Holi is a non-profit association created in November 2016, opened in October 2017 in Hagetmau, to support people affected by cancer from the moment they are diagnosed with the disease (men and women), during and after treatment. It aims to break isolation, particularly in rural areas, by offering comfort and listening.
Support is provided in the form of activities including nutritional advice, sessions with health professionals (psychologist, hypnotherapist), socio-aesthetic treatments, and adapted physical activities such as yoga and Pilates. Each member benefits from personalized support.
The association values multidisciplinarity and networking with local health stakeholders. The management team includes health professionals, with Dominique Marbat (nurse assistant) as president, Clémence Rieu (pharmacist) as treasurer, and Laure Dandieau (nurse) as secretary. A Board of Directors was formed in 2023, including Dr. Laulhé Marie-Laure to coordinate awareness-raising actions.
Where does the Landes Football District intervene?
The Landes Football District of Landes wishes to help this association. Ultimately, all goals scored during the senior women's 11-a-side championship day on November 9 and 10 will earn a total of €5 per goal scored at HOLI.
This event aims to raise awareness among championship players, but not only that! Indeed, this disease and any other form of cancer can also affect men. The Landes district hopes that this action will have a real impact on as many people as possible by raising awareness among as many people as possible thanks to a championship day.
